Help! I can't deal with this baby stuff.

Dancing_Pirate.gif We just found out that the car seat we got from Peter's sister had a recall on it. So now we are thinking we need to buy a travel system. I am freaking out. I guess it's just too late for my mind to think, but this is such a huge process. We have to make sure it has all these safety requirements, fits into the stroller, looks cute, folds with one hand, and probably other stuff I can't think of. And this car seat will only be used until he hits 22 lbs, when we'll need to buy another. I really never knew how expensive all this baby stuff was. We also have to find a pediatrician, and for some reason I need to do that now. Peter found a list of all the ones in our HMO with stars next to the ones who aren't taking patients. From that we narrowed it down to 3. I found a local baby yahoo group, so I asked them if they know anything about these doctors. Hopefully they will all be wonderful. Then I have to call them to confirm they are really taking new patients, then interview them. How does one interview a doctor? Ask if the diplomas on the wall are real? Outside of them being evil (which I can't really see with a pediatrician), what else is there? I want to hide in bed with a huge box of chocolate or cookies. Or better yet, my smores maker.

Really, I am beginning to wonder if having the baby will be easier than preparing for him.

Hey as far as that "interview" goes. Ask the policies of the office like when are they open, what happens if your baby gets sick at a wierd time or on a holiday. then you just want to make sure you click with him or her. This is a person that you will want to call over things that, in your mind, you know are silly but you aren't willing to take any chances, and sometimes this may happen at 3:00 in the morning. You want someone that you feel comfortable with, thats the most important thing. Good luck.

Thank you for your comment. That is a big help. Maybe they tell you
this stuff in your baby classes, which I haven't started yet, but this
is information I haven't been able to find yet. I really appreciate
it!
