My steak house experience

I went to a steakhouse last night. No, I'm not now eating meat. But Christina had talked up the bread at Texas Roadhouse so much that we all decided to go. It was yummy yummy bread, totally warm and full of butter. Then they give you more butter to put on it, a cinnamon butter. Oh, it was just heavenly. As we waited for our food, we also ate some peanuts, and I drank two shirly temples in the biggest glasses ever. By the time the food came, I was stuffed. My potatoes and fries were way too salty and therefore hard to eat, but the sweet potato was supremely wonderful, caked in marshmellows and caramel. So, all in all last night was a wonderful, nutrition fee time. Yay. Peter got steak. Yes, steak. I know he hasn't been a vegetarian for a long time, but wow. I told him to though, if he wants it he should eat it. He doesn't need me giving him issues for it. He needs the protein anyway.

I can't believe how fat the people were who go to this place. As Russ pointed out, everyone who left was HUGE. Like super huge. It made me feel a little better-even if I end up with 10 or 15 pounds hanging on my hips after the baby comes (but I won't dammit, I won't get fat!), I will never look like these people. I know I have been a bit heavier in my life, but I really hope I never look like those people. Many were wider than tall. Yuck.

funny you mentioned the, um, rotundity of the patrons. The last time we were there, I mentioned the very same thing to Jeff.

Heh. I remarked the same thing to my husband the last time we ate at one of those places - last May, I think - we went with two other couples. Not our first choice by any means, but sometimes my husband too needs the protein. I can't go there now while I'm pregnant, because I get too hormonally upset, feel bad for all of the super huge people and want to solve their problems for them.

Pregnancy has made me totally nuts.

Peter if you ever want sneak out of the house around dinner time and come over, I'll make you a steak you will never forget.
