It's not just vomit that can be projectile

Peter likes to burp Anderson when he's home, so yesterday morning after a feeding, he did just that. After his burp, Andy stayed on Peter's lap while we talked. He seemed happy and content, just looking around. But that changed real fast. Suddenly we hear a huge noise, and poop came flying out the back of his diaper on to the bed. Like a whole lot of it. A huge glob of it also got onto Peter (who was luckily only wearing boxers, not pants too). A bit even got onto the computer (gross!!!). It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. I knew this little guy pooped with force, but to see it land 6 inches away was just too much to take. Instead of helping Peter clean it up, I just laughed and laughed and laughed. Since our other comforter was peed on a few days ago, and I've been too lazy to go to the cleaners (why do that when I could go to the mall instead?), we had no comforter last night. Maybe these diapers aren't doing quite as good of a job, but they are much cheaper when bought at Costco, so we will deal. Besides, diapers that don't leak don't lead to funny moments.

We are going to RI today for two nights. I'm a little nervous, it's the longest we've been away from home since Andy was born. I hope he is good. I also hope I can fit in everything that I have to do. Two friends from out of state will be in town that I want to see, I'm introducing Andy to my grandparents, we have a cookout with Peter's parents, presumably another with a friend who just didn't invite me because she didn't know I'd be in town (because RI seems to think Boston is in another galaxy I've noticed), and I would like to visit Katie, my Bentley president, and see how our international conference went (which I am *so* upset I missed). I think all of that would be hard to accomplish under normal circumstances, nevermind with a baby who might scream the entire day.

I think a lot of things contributed to my bad week last week, but things are looking up. Andy is still sleeping now, Peter thinks he realized why he is waking up at 8am every morning, and we're finally getting a handle on his napping. Well, Peter is more like, who knows if I'll be able to do it on my own. But the past two days have been managable, no huge crying fits, so hopefully I am back on track.

They say things happen for a reason. And that laughter is the best medicine. Hurray for projectile poop!! I recommend watching something funny each day, maybe even while Andy is fussy and y'all can bond through silliness. I find that "America's Funniest Videos" and "Whose Line Is It Anyway" send me into giggles. And "Planet's Funniest Animals" on Animal Planet is another good one.
